The Save As PDF Button allows you to save a Microsoft Word Document in a PDF format without making any changes. A document in PDF format is useful when distributing documents so that the document may be seen the same way by all parties.
The “Save As PDF” feature is different to the “Print to PDF” feature which lets you create a PDF file in the digital paper layout you have selected and will show how the document will look when printed as it will only extract the data from the file that fits within the requested print dimensions.
The “Save as PDF” feature will keep any hyperlinks and bookmarks active and maintain the same background color that is in the Word document when it is saved as a PDF.
In summary, the “Print to PDF” and “Save As PDF” features have their own benefits and outputs. If you would like to create a printable PDF layout, then “Print to PDF” should be your choice, while if you want to convert an original file version in PDF, then “Save As PDF” should be your choice.
This quick and simple function is handy when you want to save time, instead of using the traditional Microsoft Word path: File -> Save As –> select PDF from the available formats \
